Easter Sunday

After driving ten hours--not including the hour we were stopped at the border because we told them we had no jobs and planned to go into the woods for a month ("you're not surprised I guess, that we find that a bit unusual," they said), and that we had pepper spray (they confiscated it) and two boxes of wine (they taxed it at a rate of 100%)--we arrive at Cameron Drive. The house we are looking for, our last overnight stop before the cabin we'll be in for a month, was number 29. It is pitch dark. We see number 14, 28, 33, hmm. Not a number 29 anywhere. The address we were given was Cameron Road, technically. We see a guy getting things out of his jeep and stop to inquire. He's never heard of Cameron Road. He gets his wife. She wants to know, not the address we are looking for but the person. We tell her: Ken. She knows Ken. Of course! She knows his wife, well, technically, his ex-wife, but she thinks they are still friends. She calls his wife and gets us directions to his house. Which is 23-24 minutes away. In the meantime, she--Annalee and her husband, Eddie--have invited us (including Scoob!) in for Easter Supper (minus the turkey, "silly vegetarian's"). Their house was warm and their food was home cooked. We weren't sure how we got so lucky. Annalee and Eddie even insisted on driving us to Ken's house (an hour round-trip for them). And we were glad they did, there was no way we would have found it on our own. So we've been in Nova Scotia less than 24 hours and we already have friends! And then Rachel found 20 dollars in an ATM machine. So, instead of getting jobs in Canada, because Border Patrol put us on the immigration and NO JOBS list, we are going to scour the island for cold hard cash! Peace out.
